Welcome to the Duanesburg Divers web site. We are located in the Duanesburg area of Schenectady County, NY.
Our purpose is to promote SCUBA diving, meet new divers, learn more about the sport and to inform our members about local diving activities We meet in the Schoharie River Center in Burtonsville NY (MAP Link). Please see the calendar page for meeting times and dates.
We are a daughter club of the Adirondack Aquanautical Society(AAS) We have been formed because while the AAS is an excellent organization it is too far for many people from the Duanesburg area to attend its meetings on a regular basis. Additionally many people that are just starting to get interested in SCUBA may not be ready to join an organization with membership dues. You will note that this website has many links to the AAS site. This is because I maintain both sites and am not interested in reinventing the wheel.
Membership in the Duanesburg Divers is free and you may also join the AAS in some of their activities such as their after work dives (typically Wednesday evenings during dive season.) Other AAS benefits such as the clambake, camping trip, parties, newsletter and dive trips will require an AAS membership. The cost for an AAS membership is low and as you progress in the sport you may want to consider joining this excellent club.
